Historic Salisbury Foundation's 37th Annual October Tour of Historic Homes!

It's that time of year again ~ one of the most glorious of all the weekends in Salisbury, North Carolina!

The Historic Salisbury Foundation is once again hosting it's October Tour of historic homes.  The tour and accompanying celebrations will be especially grand this year, as the Foundation is celebrating its 40th anniversary.  Stay tuned for more!

6:30 pm: The Harvest Moon Patrons' Party: Celebrate the start of OctoberTour™ 2012 as we honor our Sponsors and Homeowners with live music, dancing, signature cocktails and delicious food while enjoying the beautifully restored Hambley-Wallace House and gardens. Ticketed event.

11:30 am - 2:00 pm: The Secret Garden Tour and Luncheon: Begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of the beautifully restored gardens of the Hambley-Wallace House while learning all the details of this year-long labor of love from project leader, Janie Lane followed by a delicious lunch in the garden. Ticketed event.
5:00 pm - 9:00 pm: OctoberTour™ Night Out, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Historic Downtown Salisbury: Downtown shops open late with isotre promotions, musical entertainment and children's area. 10:00 am - 5:30 pm: 37th Annual OctoberTour™ Ticketed event.
10:00 am - 5:30 pm: Visit West Bank Street for delectable fare from local restaurants, musical entertainment on the lawn of the Hall House, Historic Salisbury Foundation booth with educational literature, membership information and memorabilia.
10:00 am - 5:30 pm: Visit 507 South Fulton Street for the Living History Encampment. The 63rd Regiment of the North Carolina Confederate Troops, Reactivated, will camp, soldiers will march, fire volley, discuss war strategy, tell stories and answer questions.
10:00 am - 5:30 pm: The Old North State Field Hospital Civil War Medical Reenactors group will portray the role of the Medical Department during the 1861-1865 war period, honoring both Confederate and Union Medical Services and Departments.
11:00 am - 3:00 pm: NEW! Colonial Children's Games on the Hall House Lawn, for children ages 4014. Games will be taught by volunteers of the Rowan Museum, dressed in colonial attire.
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm: NEW! History-themed Treasure Hunt for children, grades 2-8. Children are eligible to enter in teams of 4 to 6 members, plus 1 mandatory adult. Registration fee is $10 per participant and includes an OctoberTour™ 2012 t-shirt. Click for Registration Information.
Sundown: Living History Lantern Tour conducted by the 63rd Regiment of the NC Confederate Troops, Reactivated. Old Lutheran Cemetery, North Lee and Cemetery Streets. Tickets available at event, $5.00.
2:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Morgan Ridge Vineyard of Gold Hill serving a selection of their wines for sale on the lawn of the Dr. J. W. Hall House.
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: OctoberTour™ After Hours and Artist Reception. Enjoy spirits and refreshments on the Hall House lawn while admiring paintings completed during the Oil Painters of America Paint Out.
